May 2010 So... I've been thinking. I know, I know! That's dangerous. My head might malfunction. Anyway, last month I had opportunity to teach again. Some of you might know that during the 1990's that is pretty much all I did. With a baby in my left arm and a laser pointer in my right hand, I taught classes covering every Microsoft program available and more. And last month, I was asked to teach a crash course in Office 2007. It was wonderful! Seeing students pick up new tricks and learn new features is such an adrenaline rush! And the experience has me wondering: Is it time to open the classroom again? We originally closed the classroom because the local economy was so horrible that the only people making any money from our classes were the organizations responsible for distributing the class schedule -the post office and the newspaper. But technology has changed dramatically and there are so many more options. So I'm wondering if it would be feasible to offer classes via the internet or to use the tried-n-true classroom method. I’m also wondering what subjects would be of interest. In the past Microsoft products have been popular -Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Publisher. But there are new items on the list. Things like Twitter, Open Office, Photo Editing, blogging, creating your own DVD's/CD's, controlling malware or even promoting a business. Is there a strong enough interest out there to warrant setting up the classroom again? Fill out the form below and let me know. To more efficient computing, ~ Janet |
