Outward circumstances have no final power over the individual whose interior is strong.
One of the joys of working in a computer store is that I get to play with all of the new toys ~ assuming of course, that I can get the new toys away from the boys. And, we have a new toy. Its name is Windows Media Center.
Windows Media Center is an enhanced version of Windows XP. It is designed to take control of your entertainment needs. If you are a computer gamer, you will like the Media Center. It uses DirectX 9 compatible hardware – the same hardware designed especially for high end gaming.
Want to create a movie from your family photos? Media Center can do this.
Want to record your favorite TV show? Media Center is all over it. (requires cable or satellite connection)
Need to edit your digital photos? Improved editing software is included.
And let’s not forget about music. Media Center has improved features for controlling play lists and burning CD’s.
Do you have a collection of VHS tapes that are beginning to deteriorate? You can move them to the computer and use the included software to create a DVD CD. But Wait! There’s more! The DVD will play on most DVD players, no computer needed, even Grandma can use it.
But the best part is the remote control. You can do all of this from the comfort of the couch using the familiar point and click method. Microsoft has summed it up this way: Media Center delivers a powerful yet familiar way to enjoy all of your digital entertainment – photos, music, TV, Home Videos, radio and a world of applications and services, all designed for easy viewing whether you're sitting in front of your Windows desktop or full-screen, across the room with a remote control. The easy-to-navigate menu screens feature customizable sound prompts, 3D animated transitions, and backgrounds.
Want to see a demonstration? Stop by and visit with the men in the store. I would show you myself, but I’m still trying to get my hands on the remote control!
Happy Computing!
