Backup prices are based on compressed data size. Compression rates vary depending on the data you are backing up. Typically, you can expect that 20 gigs of raw data will compress down to somewhere between 10 to 15 gigs.

The backup utilizes a small client file that keeps track of what to backup and where to send it. The data is encrypted and optionally, password protected. Remote backup requires a high speed internet connection.

Depending on your computer configuration, it might be necessary to configure firewall settings to allow communication between your site and the remote servers.

A server is considered a device. If all workstations save their data to the server, then only one device is needed. If you would like laptops or workstations to have their own private backup routines, then additional devices will be necessary.
